If you are getting to the Freedom Trailhead after sundown, I assume you will camp there overnight, since it's illegal to camp down at the springs. When you do leave your vehicle at the Freedom Trailhead the next day when you hike down, just make sure you do not leave any valuables in the vehicle just in case.
