I was hiking yesterday to the springs using the bradford trail and about halfway in my friends and I stopped under a small shaded area just enough for the few of us to drink some water for a minute and then my friend pointed out that there was a small wooden sign attached to a tree branch that read: "The only acre spared in the 1999 fire." It was very interesting because we wouldn't have even seen that sign if we didn't stop right at that spot.
Today I googled a bit and found out it was called the Willow Fire of 1999 and one of the worst fires in san bernardino fire history. Anyway, just thought it was neat and interesting.
