Hey Mojave (denali), I am one of the few long time regulars on this forum who remembers you and your posts. You always had interesting information. And its funny how I remember your posts about driving your Mercedes to the Freedom Trailhead!
I'm blown away by what happened to you. Your detailed description is quite dramatic, and I daresay you are lucky to be alive! That's must have been hell to go through. Have you figured out where you picked up the Bacteria? I seem to remember you worked in a medical profession. As we all know, hospitals are not as germ free as we are led to believe- there are plenty of nasty microbes and bacteria EVERYWHERE in hospitals and in and around surgical and medical testing equipment.
Of course as you indicated microbes are everywhere in nature. Would it be safe to say you didn't pick it up from Deep Creek? As you said, it wasn't Nagleria Fowleri, which as you know is almost always fatal.
Anyway, I hope you make a full recovery. We would love to see you post more again back on this forum- its been pretty quiet here lately....
