Hello Neogeo, I missed you by a day this time as I was there on Thursday Always great to visit with you down there at the springs! Those Great Blue Herons are such magnificent creatures. One day a couple of years ago I was at a spot I like far upstream from DCHS. As I was enjoying the serenity while laying on a warm rock and gazing at the large creek pool in front of me, a Great Blue Heron suddenly came over from downstream and landed on the sand beach about 30 feet in front of me. It was an adult, very tall, maybe four feet or more from feet to head, and at first it did not see me. It was planning on hunting for food at the pools edge, then it looked over and saw me, and it was a magical couple of minutes watching it, watch me It then flew across to the other side of the pool and stood there on some smooth granite for a while looking down into the water for a meal. That is one of the things I enjoy very much at Deep Creek, experiencing the stream life going about their day in the less traveled places Hope to see you soon Neogeo
