She was a constant visitor to deep creek hotsprings in the 1990's. Shirley Jean died on June 20, I heard it was kidney failure. I will miss her dearly and have many fond memories of her. One night she and I were hiking out from deep creek (topless) and heard a pack of dogs approaching. We were afraid we might get bit. Shirley Jean walked out in front with her staff held high and fortunately one of the dogs was Peanut, we were fine.
I know many people knew Shirley Jean and she was a resident of Moss Mill for many years at the hotsprings hilton, her recreational vehicle.
