With poor weather looming for Saturday night through Monday, we moved our trip up to Friday/Sat and I'm glad we did. Friday was perfect. Camping at Bowen ranch was very pleasant. No wind at all. Saturday around 4:30 pm is when we started noticing the wind pick up. We immediately packed up and headed out. By the time we reached the top is was very gusty. Upon reaching the lot I walked past 2 rangers and a K-9 heading down. I commented... oh no .. they're here. I said something about the weather starting to turn and they acknowledged that firmly. We had left about 25 people and a few of our friends down at the springs whom I have learned since that many were ticketed and also that they were not letting anyone leave because of the deteriorating unsafe conditions. There was also an intense altercation between the K-9 and a visitors wolf-like dog.
When we arrived Saturday all pools were full like it was a mid summer's day. The Arizona Pool was full of one group of about 25 people all making lots of noise and playing loud traditional oompa loompa Mexican tuba accordion music. Luckily they left after about 90 minutes. The upper pool had some shitty hip hop music blaring. I really wish people would leave their fucking radios at home and stop subjecting everyone else to your awful taste in music. DCHS does not need DJ's!
