In my opinion, driving to Bowen Ranch is totally worth it. The other way from the 173 (Bradford Ridge) is waaaay longer of a hike and a lot of it is steep downhill which can mess you up if you have a heavy pack. The shorter hike also allows to spend more time at the springs instead of starting to hike out early before dark. Plus... I think your car is safer at the Ranch.
