Mike is fine. Just be polite and friendly. His beef is mainly with rowdy local disrespectful teenagers.
I find April to be better buff or not. Not only is it warmer but you have more daylight to enjoy.
There is only one small spot on the trail that you might have to put your butt and hand on a rock. It's 98% smooth sailing.
Weekends are more textile but no one seems to mind nudity very much. You might hear a giggle here and there but as long as you are cool, people are generally pretty accepting. You'll find the more people that do get naked... the more join in.
ALWAYS check the wind forecast, especially if you are camping. High winds can put a real damper on things.
