The Summit Fire is burning near Snow Summit Ski Resort south of Big Bear Lake. It was reported at 12:25 pm and is approximately 75 acres in size. The cause is under investigation. It is burning with a moderate rate of spread in moderate to heavy fuels. Mandatory Evacuations are in place for the area from Knickerbocker Road east to Georgia Road and south of Pennsylvania Road to the forest boundary. An evacuation center is being set up at the Big Bear Convention Center located at the intersection of Big Bear Blvd and Division Road.
Forest Roads 2N06 (Radford), 1N54 (Clarks Grade), 2N93 (Wildhorse), and 2N10 (Skyline) are now closed.
