I had never "camped" at the bottom in my 15 visits but my bum knee had something to do with persuading me. I talked to the campers (first timers to DCHS) on the beach before crossing and discouraged them from that spot .#1 because it was blocking ingress egress.. #2 because they would be the first to be ticketed if the rangers arrived. I advised them to set up much farther upstream and as far from the water as they could as we did. They didn't listen and they left trash the next morning which we hauled out. I can't tell if I am being attacked for my post or if I just stoked an angry ember.
