). Just curious as to the purpose of the spillway. It seems a bit of overkill if it's for flood control of Deep Creek into the Mojave. Does Deep Creek actually flood that much? I remember walking in Deep Creek just below the upper PCT bridge below Hooks Creek Rd, and there was just enough water to get the bottoms of my shoes wet. Plus, looking at the map Rick posted it almost appears that the the water can go around the dam...???!!!??? Oh, wait, federal tax dollars. It doesn't have to make sense
