spaten, the best advice anyone can give you has already been mentioned. Never go there on weekends. The crowd and vibe on weekends tends to be as you indicated- textiles everywhere.
If you go on a weekday early, its usually a completely different scenario -more naturists and mellow people.
I've gone to the springs literally thousands of times since 1970 and I have never worn swim trunks once! I ALWAYS go nude.
