The SD guys go to the Hot Springs because the hike is easy. Similar areas in SD county, the hike is to technical for most people.
This makes no sense to me. I am a "San Diego" guy and having been going to Deep Creek for decades. I have several friends who live in SD County who also have been going to DCHS for years. None of us have had any bad experiences with the locals. We all help to take care of the place. We all take a lot of trash out whenever we go. DCHS is for everyone, and everybody, regardless of what county they live in,have a responsibility to Mother Nature and the springs.
The hike is too technical for most people? What does this have to do with San Diego? By the way, I've climbed Mt. Whitney, Mt. McKinley, Rainer, Hood, Kilimanjaro and countless others. So ,no, Deep Creek is not a technical hike.
