What I think George is referencing is someone who does live here in the high desert who on his face book page did write this comment today " Maybe all these people that come from LA and San Diego will quit coming when it gets really gross then we can clean it up and enjoy it again ". I am very much a regular visitor of DCHS, and I personally have not heard something like this expressed by any other " locals " that I know. And this you expressed Nmvhiker " simply to get away from the rude, drunk and drugged up locals " is a generalization that I don't agree with. I am a local, and you have no idea of all the things I have done for/in the Deep Creek area to make things better. There are many other locals who have done all sorts of good things over many years at DCHS. There is a wide variety of people who visit these springs, and they come from all sorts of places, and the types of people from these various " locals " will be variable too. Its not the case that those who come to the springs from beyond the local area are good, and those who visit here locally are as according to some sort of rule, rude, drunk, and drugged up. DCHS has become very popular, and is much busier than it used to be, so it is experiencing the inevitable repercussions of this reality. People that are caring and take care of the place will do what they do, and unfortunately others that are careless and destructive will also do what they are inclined to do. I understand Nmvhiker why you seek out more quiet places along Deep Creek in the warmer months not wanting to be around certain negative things that go on at DCHS when its more crowded, I do the same quite regularly.
