Falls remain popular despite Fuentes' death; officials say area not usually patrolled
DEEP CREEK — Two miles upstream from the Mojave River Forks Dam, along the Pacific Crest Trail, is a fabled area that locals refer to as Hesperia Falls.
It features 45- to 50-foot-tall cliffs on one side of a large, natural pool with stacked boulders covered in graffiti on the other. The cliffs have long been, and still are, the stomping grounds for local high school students and young adults to cool off and jump from the cliffs into the water below....
