Post-visit report!
It was easy enough to find, when we reached Bowen Ranch we didn't see Mike. A woman was there, she was very friendly and informative, went over the rules and gave us a map. Had a friendly dog with her as well, he was awesome. She was the one at the gate as we left as well, was still friendly.
They were working on the road between the house and parking/camping area Sat/Sun, there were visible improvements as we drove out.
Hike to the springs was as expected. Springs themselves were amazing. Not as many naturalists as I had been expecting, but also no one was weird about those of us that did strip down. Very relaxed and friendly environment.
As the day progressed, it got more crowded. The later arrivals were more boisterous, a couple folks didn't know it was a clothing optional place. One seemed weird out by it, but her friend shyly looked around, then quickly took her top off and seemed proud/pleased at her own confidence, which was kind of adorable. Even with that, it was a very friendly and welcoming environment.
As it got louder and more crowded, we finally decided to leave (was around 2pm). The hike back was rough because it was uphill, but I'm recovering from an ankle injury (no pain, but I can't bend my ankle all the way), so that was sorta why our return was extra slow. Even with that, though, very manageable.
All in all, loved it and plan to return!!
