Mike's policy is if you leave after dark you should have paid for overnight. Follow the rules and be less anti-organization. You should know he has a video of whatever you said he did so don't think other than your bullying that you have any claim. Sorry I'm not sympathetic but if you don't like Bowen Ranch access, then use Bradley Ridge or the Spillway. But know your vehicle will likely be broken into at some time at those places. I've gone to Bowen several hundred times and never had a problem, but I read the signs and I respect those around me. Yeah, Mike lives in the wilderness by himself so he is different but he's not what all the stories say. Believe me I've been at the Ranch during some of the incidents. I have enough history to know that there was a group who believed that they had a right to cross private property in order to have "free access" to the Spring via Moss Mill Road. Well, that road is on a neighbors property and it is PRIVATE, Closed and not accessible. If a private property owner doesn't exercise their right to keep people off it could be grounds for creating an easement. That is why you won't see any of the private lands in the area give anyone a crossing. Mike is a business owner and his property is his, properly acquired, defended in the courts and protected by local law enforcement and the Forest Service. I've been on tours of the Goat Trail area with Deputies in order for them to understand the problems of gangs ( I've seen them at the springs, private militia, I've seen them near the springs with weapons training, Drug Mules, seen them coming down the PCT and many other issues. People die every year acting stupid in this area. Mike has helped keep people alive and rescued. He found me when I missed the turn on a trail and got lost years ago when I was first learning the trail. I can understand you want to go to the springs, but Mike is a guy living by himself in the wilderness who has a right to protect himself from crazy acting people from the city. Act like you belong and you will find Mike is fine. Try Glen Ivy if you don't like Deep Creek!
