The weather was the best in the country and too beautiful not to go to deep creek. There was a small consistant breeze and only a few high clouds at 12:30. There were 10 cars on the Bowen ranch, but no cars at the Freedom trail head. When I parked at the Hunters camp a hawk was circleing over head. When I got to the springs there were @ 30 persons with more arriveing as the day continued.
The beaches had only a small amount of trash as Deep creek volunteers have been cleaning up at a much better pace than before. THANKS to every one who helped with that. I only found @ 10 gallons to take with me.
Not a lot going on so I took my theremometer out. The out side air temp at 3 pm was 68 degrees on the beach. The creek water up stream from the Arizona pool was 62 degrees. The creek water at the beach crossing was 66 degrees. Certainly nicer than last month.
All pool temps were taken near the center of the pool near the surface.
The Arizona pool was aquamarine and clean at 108 degrees. Hotter than usual because the sunshine had warmed it up more. When I was leaving a guy asked what the temp was at the source was. I replyed it was usualy 110 degrees. But, when I took the temp at the source it was 112.
The Anniversary pool water was only 104 degrees. Most of the water was being diverted to the canal bypass making this pool cooler than usual.
The Womb pool was recieving the extra heat it was 106 degrees.
The Serenity pool was 108 degrees and a great place to soak.
A local vollunteer has rebuilt the creek pool in front of the Serenity pool again, THANKS for making it nice. I did not get the temp there because a couple in love were hogging it.
The Crab cooker was at 114 degrees as usual.
The Contemplation pool was a nice 89 degrees. It was so relaxing I took a 10 minuet nap there.
Many hot spring regulars appeared later in the day. It was nice talking with them all.
PLEASE help keep Deep creek clean by hauling out more trash than you bring in.
