The older old timers know that for many many years TRASH existed. That is why we they take bags down to the DCHS. If as several folks point out that if the trash does not get hauled away it will close the area down. Personally I do not care if all natural or partly natural folks attend, but campfires are a whole other issue. Several times I have encountered during the summer dry season campers with a campfire and reminded them that fires at this time are not safe. As politely as possible I ask them to extinguish the fire as soon as possible. There have been mixed responses. I do not always carry a weapon with me when I visit the springs, but I do carry a radio with me that can contact law enforcement. I just tell them what they are doing is illegal and I can back back up what I say. It is our retreat and it is a responsibility to protect it. Packing up the trash is just something that needs to be done and keeping the area from burning still falls back onto the responsibility of the mature thinking folks. Thanks
