Good post and you hit a good point regarding the absence or lack of support from the U.S. Forestry.

I was visiting the springs yesterday, (Sunday 6/16) and afterwards I usually stop-by the ranch to visit and speak with Mike C. there. He and I had a little discussion about vandalism there of the two vehicles that recently took place in the nearby backcountry.

Almost everything you mentioned about the U.S. Foresrty we totally agree with. The U.S. Forestry collect monies from this Adventure Pass thing and yet where is their support? I feel that we have an area here of what I myself consider to be a focal point of interest, Deep Creek Hot Springs, an area of unique or special features in the boundaries of forest land. And yet we see less and less of the rangers that should there patrolling the area more often. I am growing more suspicious of why they are not out there in force much more often. That area needs much more attention!

Mike mentioned to me that we need to complain to U.S. Forestry Dept. and we can easily call them and should insisit on speaking with the head of the dept. Mike gave me the name of the supervisor to speak with, but I forgot the name. But believe the first or last name of this individual was, "Allison" Not sure if it was a first or last name. I'll ask Mike again and will repost the full name at a later date. Sorry, but the name did not stick with me.

I believe it is really inportant here to get as many as possible to voice our concerns to the U.S. Forestry regarding their continued absence or lack of support for the hot springs and the backcountry where they should be. I have sense this this sometime ago, but never really paid any attention of it 'til Mike brought up in our conversation yesterday. I believe Katrina's Website here has some posted telephone numbers of the U.S. Forestry that would be a good starting point for us are very concerned.
