Almost out: I find it significant that you would characterize my post above as "selfish." In my detailing the scenario in which young people most often visit the springs - by their own choice, on their own with good friends, sometimes with their family in usually a naturist-friendly way - I also want to imply that what is important there is that visiting DCHS is their choice. It is to my mind weird and selfish to bring a whole group of young girls to a nude hot spring, making the choice for them. Unless that is not the scenario. It is also selfish to think that DCHS should be "family friendly" -- ie., not nudist -- or that being nudist it is not "family friendly" - it is extremely family friendly and nudist. But clearly from the first post above, you are characterizing your group as one that is not, and hoping you won't see many nudists while there. Thus my advice, in part, that there may be other hikes and destinations just as beautiful and more appropriate for the specific group.
The last time I was there on a Saturday, I saw some things even I did not want to see! And I'm a naturist - piercings, cock-rings, etc. So be advised, and that is the spirit in which these posts were offered, not one of negativity or selfishness on our part. There is a culture at DCHS, there are a core group of locals and volunteers who are there all the time, infrequent visitors hopefully respect the spirit of the place, and one essential and central part of that is the clothing-optional use of the hot springs.
