Thank you for the advice and concern. The girls are required to complete a 5 mile hike before our girl's camp is one reason I thought of this hike for them because the distance is just about right. I have been to DCHS before and I think it is gorgeous and I think it would be a fun place for the girls to experience the natural beauty of the earth. I am aware that it will be a hard hike in and out, but we are taking about teenagers, not children-plus I've seen children there before. I was just wondering if it is worth the cost of paying $5 per girl for the other "easier" route. Which I am not convinced that it is.
I understand that there is a strong possibility that there will be nudists there and even along the way. (I figured on weekends there are usually less because so it gets so crowded). However, I do not see why that should deter us from coming. The area is for everyone and it would be a shame for the girls to miss out on such a cool place. Plus, we are planning on bringing trash bags to pick up any trash we see on the trail and down at the hot springs as a service project.
As I said before, thank you for the advice and concern--Happy hiking to all!
