I took this short clip from the REI parking lot this past weekend.

REI is very close to MCAS (Marine Corps Air Station at Miramar). Jets routinely fly over that area. Their take off path is directly over Blacks Beach. We regularly see them overhead at Blacks during the week.
San Diego was, and still is, a military town. It's one of the mainstays of our economy, besides all the biotech that is here now.
