We know from your youtube driving videos you like your electronica in the desert. I do too.
I'm not sure I can match these excellent lists and stages of the drive. When I do the drive out to the springs it's a 2 hour commitment. I usually pick an album or two to get reacquainted with on the drive. Some of these stick in memory.
I remember once coming off the 210 freeway making my way north toward the Cajon pass, playing as loud as possible X's See How We Are for the first time since high school. This sticks in memory because the music makes the road trip and that is always part of the Deep Creek experience for me.
I felt for many years that Broken Social Scene's eponymous album was THE perfect high desert music. Whatever I was playing in the car, when I got to the desert I would put that album on.
Then I switched gears and went through a Bon Iver stage and played that every time I was in the desert.
Other contenders for desert road trip music lately have been the Beach Fossils, Joshua James, always Led Zeppelin, yes Morrissey. My new obsession and cued up for the next trip to the springs is one I share with Paul -
