Re: Dirt road to Freedom Trail and back

Staying at Arrowhead this weekend and took my friend's kids for some off-roading in my SUV in the morning. Before we returned, thought it would be of benefit to accurately map out the short stretch to the Freedom lot with a map and photos. I took exact coordinates at each of the waypoints. Jobe, you were pretty close if you described it from memory. Paul, in your post the 0.5 mile reference is technically correct, because the first 0.4 miles are still on Bowen Ranch road AFTER you make the right just before the Bowen Ranch (follow the red arrow on my map that points to "Turn right" and see that first fork ... Bowen technically continues to the left but you will stay right ... in real life, I couldn't spot this fork so it will not get anyone lost). A bit confusing. I also agree that the roads past the Freedom lot are best left to those who have the clearance and some off-road experience. We had a ton of fun tossing around "the magic carpet" as the kids called it on the more challenging parts.
