You might want to use the Freedom trail head. The lower parking lot is @ 1/2 mile past there.
But, since you asked for the lower parking area this is how to get there :
When you get to where the signs mentioning the Bowen ranch turn right. Then when you see a left turn take that left turn. Do that 2 more times when you see left turns. After the 3rd left turn you go exactly 1/2 mile and you will see the Freedom trailhead. There most likely will be cars/trucks parked there. The trail to the springs there is on the south side of this parking area. Near the large boulders. Continue east down the very bumpy hill and another @ 1/2 mile you will see the fence and trailhead. Four wheel drive recommended after the Freedom trail head.
