It has happened at DCHS ... twice. I can't sleep tonight due to a nasty flu and did some research into medical journals, partly because they are such page turners and do a good job of putting me to sleep. The first case was fatal and happened in 71. The second one involved a 9 year old girl who was treated successfully in 82. She was admitted unresponsive to SB County Hospital and then transferred to UCLA. They stabilized her within 48 hrs and I'll spare the treatment detail. She went swimming twice at DCHS before the symptoms set in.
