I still recall the swine flu scare. I was on a flight from Chicago to Toronto and there were literally only 18 of us on a wide body aircraft (that's the one with the 2-4-2 seat arrangement. Upon landing at the airport, customs was wearing masks and rubber gloves. As I work at hospitals, you can imagine the scene when I arrived. They might have as well posted "you may die if you breathe" signs everywhere. Seriously though, precautions are better than none, but I think to be totally safe, we might as well stay at home, suck on a pressurized bottle of whip cream and watch re-runs of Jerry Springer.

The climate change is an interesting debate. There is an Australian who started a site some time ago that has gained popularity on the topic after hearing one of our politicians claim it was a myth ... because you know, politicians and actors or celebrities know everything about anything and we should all listen to what they say (cough BS).

Beyond global warming, this is my favorite think tank as I have not turned on the news or the TV in over three years. Great place to mellow out intellectually, aside from a hot springs (except this weekend) ... Black's seems to be the better option in high heat.
