Yeah you can't use scented warming love lotions in the woods Paul :-) I'm kidding, but Yosemite has some strict rules. I change out of the clothes I use to cook dinner before heading to sleep. I believe if one is responsible for contributing to having the rangers put down a bear because it became aggressive as a result something one did, the fine is in the thousands. For wildlife though, I think nothing beats Yellowstone during the first few weeks of May. Many, many cubs and other young babies everywhere. Of course, where there are young ones, mom is just around the corner so care must be taken.
This brings up a few myths though about camping since you mentioned it ... specifically menstruating women being the most popular and sex attracting bears. Of course both are false. It all started with a story from the 80's, at least as far as the latter is concerned:
