I am not sure how to respond to your post. Are you asking me not to collect trash? Are you more concerned about trash locations? If so, what do you suggest?
when I bag way more than I can carry? Should I just leave all the drek as is?
Having a trash location is always on my mind. That's why I brought a marker to make the sign I mentioned in my previous posts.
Unfortunately, I was unable to find any surface to write on - I always pick up 3-4 beer cases I thought to use for the sign.

I am totally with you on "We just have to be careful not to enable lousy behavior"; I am just not sure how to. Ideally, everyone at the springs carries a bag when
I or somebosy else fills it. But we do not leave in a perfect world.

Also, unfortunately, the last 3 times I've been to the springs, the entire area looked like one large trash collection site with trash all around.

A thought: when a place is spotless it gets trashed less. It's proven at another hot springs I frequent.

Another thought... I think it's better if the nitwits add their trash to the "location" as oppose to leaving it where they stayed or tossing it over the cliff or in case of glass bottles over the rocks...

... not arguing...just saying...
