I agree...don't quit going, or the bad ones win. It's good that you used restraint with the flashlight when you thought about the guy being high and drunk, but it should also be remembered that he was apparently sober when he loaded up his alcohol, weed, weapon, and ammunition for the trip. (Since you said he was acting OK before starting on the weed and alcohol.) That kind of action should not be simply over-looked. It's the sort of thing that could evolve into bigger problems that may result in someone being seriously injured or killed, and/or the area being closed to access.
BTW, I've seen plenty of folks at DCHS using weed and alcohol, and they managed to be cool and easy to get along with. This guy's got some pretty deep issues...and pretty deep STUPIDITY. I'm glad nobody got hurt in this case.
