JB,
Glad Paul P. was able to compare both trails for you. I just wanted to point out that you can avoid the last section that Paul mentions is steep and slippery. About 100 yards before you reach this section there is another trail that takes off to your right that is a gradual decent. The best reference I can give you is that after passing between some large rocks the trail makes a short steeper decent (about 10 yards long). This will put you on top of the ridge and you will be able to see the creek on both sides of the ridge, to your right and to your left. Look for the trail that starts down the rigde to the left, it is only a little longer but much easier on both the way down and the way up. Also on your return the last hill before the Bowen Ranch is a little steep and tiring as it is at the end of the hike. There are many rocks to sit on and rest on the way up, so the best is just to take it easy. Hope this helps and you enjoy your visit if you choose to go.
