A friend and I hiked to DCHS yesterday and the stream crossing is still very easy, only about knee deep if you pick the right place to cross. The creek is still around 39 degrees and my friend and I dunked under in it a few times after warming up in the Arizona Hot Pool. It was great weather with only about 10 visitors all day. Regarding getting drinking water at DCHS. I get water from the Crab Cooker source where that hot flow shoots out of the granite. The tube there is small which fills your bottle to slow for me :-) Also you can get safe drinking water at the Arizona Pool source, and at the main large hot source up next to the PCT. I have never had any problems getting water from those sources, and have not heard of anyone else having problems doing this either. I have not taken water from the creek, hot pools or any other water sources as they could be subject to contamination problems. My friend and I always drink ( after cooling it down in the creek ) plenty of great tasting DCHS hot springs water when we are visiting :-)
