Yes Jobe today weather conditions were as you described, here in Apple Valley and over at Deep Creek too. My wife was coming home from work and said it was snowing but not sticking going up the 15 FWY just before the top of the Cajon Pass. But on the other hand, yesterday,s weather at DCHS was magnificent with deep blue skies, temps in the afternoon warm enough to catch the sun in the sandy area above the Arizona Pool, and only light breezes till around sunset when it started to get more windy as the storm of today was starting to affect the area. There were few visitor, maybe less than 10 all day so it was nice quiet soaking in all of the pools. I went with a long time regular visitor to DCHS named Anke and first we soaked in the Serenity pool, and as Jobe said it and the Womb were very clean :-) Then later we wanted to get some sunshine so we went over to the sandy area and enjoyed the sun until it finally dipped below the ridge line. Later in the day we soaked in the Arizonal Pool and had a long conversation with another regular who told us all about their many explorations in the Deep Creek canyon :-) Anke in our conversation mentioned you Jobe, saying that she thought you were very thoughtful, caring and considerate, as well as a very industrious person, like all the various things you have done over the years to help DCHS be a nicer place to visit with all of the clean up and trash removal you have done along with other projects. I told her I agree :-) Anke has a real tolerance for cold and while we were soaking in the Arizona Pool she swam in the creek over to fill up her little water bottle at least a handful of times. The creek water was in the 40's! She likes the feeling of the cold then getting back into the warm/hot water. There were actually more females than males yesterday, and everyone was having a great time with their conversations and peaceful soaks. It was such a wonderful day :-) We crossed the creek at the rock crossing and since it was a bit tricky crossing the wet rocks I took one of my pooches Piper ( a Miniature Pincher ) to a spot where the creek was only about 4 feet across, then I leaned out and tossed him over to the flat granite on the other side but he lost his balance and rolled over into the creek. He was in the rapids for a bit but then swam out of them back to where I was. I tossed him a second time and he made it fine. Now Piper can add Flying to his resume of adventures, like being bit by a Rattle Snake and more recently being attacked by a Coyote, surviving both like the Warrior Dog that he is :-) It was a beautiful hike out in the chilly air and the Moon was about a third full shining its graceful dim light. The creek was pretty much back down to a low level so people were still able to easily wade the stream across to the hot pools. After today's rains it may go up some again so if you go keep that in mind.
