Celtfire, This new pool has a dam built of cement and rock. People have put some sand bags across the top of the dam to make it a little deeper. That dam wall has been added to over time with more cement and rock, so it is getting higher and the pool deeper. Also this pool is higher than the creek level has gone in the floods in recent decades, including the highest stream level I have seen in the 2011 flooding. Even if flood waters got as high as the pool, because of its location there would be no force of water against the dam as its very protected from something like that. So the Contemplation Pool will be around for the foreseable future. All bets are off however if there is an asteriod impact in the immediate area :-)
