...COOLER WITH SHOWERS FOR LATE WEDNESDAY THROUGH EARLY FRIDAY...

THE LOW PRESSURE SYSTEM OFF THE CALIFORNIA COAST THAT BROUGHT
COOLING THE END OF LAST WEEK WILL MOVE SLOWLY TOWARD THE EAST AND
SOUTHEAST THIS WEEK...MOVING THROUGH SOUTHWEST CALIFORNIA LATE
WEDNESDAY THROUGH EARLY FRIDAY.

AS IT MOVES THROUGH SOUTHWEST CALIFORNIA...IT IS EXPECTED TO
BRING SHOWERS AND A SLIGHT CHANCE OF THUNDERSTORMS WITH THE MOST
LIKELY TIME FOR PRECIPITATION LATE WEDNESDAY NIGHT THROUGH EARLY
THURSDAY EVENING.

PRECIPITATION AMOUNTS ARE EXPECTED TO BE SOMEWHAT VARIABLE DUE TO
THE SHOWERY NATURE OF THE PRECIPITATION...BUT GENERAL RAINFALL
AMOUNTS COULD RANGE FROM ONE TENTH TO ONE QUARTER INCH NEAR THE
COAST TO AROUND ONE HALF INCH IN MOUNTAINS WITH AMOUNTS IN THE
DESERTS MOSTLY ONE TENTH INCH OR LESS. THUNDERSTORMS COULD
PRODUCE BRIEF HEAVY RAINFALL AND SMALL HAIL.

SNOW LEVELS THURSDAY THROUGH THURSDAY EVENING COULD LOWER TO 6500
TO 7000 FEET WITH A FEW INCHES OF SNOWFALL POSSIBLE ON THE HIGHER
PEAKS...MAINLY ABOVE 7000 FEET.

HIGH TEMPERATURES THURSDAY ARE EXPECTED TO BE AROUND 10 DEGREES
BELOW AVERAGE AT LOWER ELEVATIONS...AND 15 TO 20 DEGREES BELOW
AVERAGE IN THE MOUNTAINS AND INLAND VALLEYS. THIS IS A SHARP
CONTRAST TO EARLY LAST WEEK WHEN HIGH TEMPERATURES WERE 10 TO 15
DEGREES ABOVE AVERAGE AND LOCALLY 20 DEGREES ABOVE AVERAGE.

STAY TUNED TO NOAA WEATHER RADIO...THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE
WEBSITE AT WEATHER.GOV/SANDIEGO...OR LOCAL MEDIA FOR UPDATES.
