" anniversary of the Anniversary pool, or is it now the Wizard pool? " I have not ever heard anyone call it that ( Wizard pool ) but for some reason I really do like the name :-) On the other hand, regarding the Serenity Pool, my wife came up with that name many years ago :-) How that happened is in the DCHS archives, another fun research project for you Mohave :-) Regarding the Aniversary Pool, there was a huge flood in 92, and where that hot pool now sits it was an earthen bank of grass before this flood, and the main hot source that comes down from near the PCT ran in a little gully of the dirt around that bend down to the Womb and Serenity hot pools. The flood stripped away that earthen bank down to bed rock which caused the source hot waters to cascade straight down the hill into the area where the shower now is. Then later that year when the weather warmed up Mike Digioia/Arizona Mike ( who named the Arizona hot pool ) worked with some helpers and they built a rock and cement dike attached to the barren granite to once again take the source hot water around the bend down to a little small pool they built, which is still there at the south end of the of the Aniversary pool, and then on to the Womb and Serenity hot pools. That dike they built is also still there just above the Aniversary hot pool. It was not too long after that when the Aniversary hot pool was constructed on the newly barren granite exposed by the big 92 flood.
