I guess if you want to use it el naturalle, take a flight up to Vancouver and head to Wreck's beach next to the University of British Columbia*. The regulars have even set up beach furniture. Throughout the city, pot is smoked openly and personal use is tolerated by the police ... just don't bring alcohol, as you will be cited and not by the local cops, but by the RCMP, the Canadian federal police.
I remember during my first visit there, an el naturelle girl, a student, ran up to me as soon as I reached the bottom step and offered some of her organic homemade cookies. I didn't want to ask what was in them, but they were yummy, and it was certainly a friendly welcome. Maybe we should get such a greeter for DCHS. One cookie per visitor, with a tag to remind visitors to carry out their trash or they will not get another one on subsequent visits.
