COACHELLA VALLEY-RIVERSIDE COUNTY MOUNTAINS-
SAN BERNARDINO COUNTY MOUNTAINS-APPLE AND LUCERNE VALLEYS-
218 PM PDT SAT AUG 18 2012

...THE URBAN AND SMALL STREAM FLOOD ADVISORY FOR MINOR FLOODING OF
URBAN AREAS REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 315 PM PDT FOR SOUTH CENTRAL SAN
BERNARDINO AND NORTH CENTRAL RIVERSIDE COUNTIES...

AT 214 PM PDT...NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE DOPPLER RADAR INDICATED
THAT THE THUNDERSTORMS ARE WEAKENING OVER THE AREA.
HOWEVER...LIGHT TO MODERATE SHOWERS CONTINUE OVER THE AREA AND RUNOFF
WILL CONTINUE...SO THE URBAN AND SMALL STREAM FLOOD ADVISORY REMAINS
IN EFFECT.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

MOST FLOOD DEATHS OCCUR IN AUTOMOBILES. NEVER DRIVE YOUR VEHICLE INTO
AREAS WHERE THE WATER COVERS THE ROADWAY. FLOOD WATERS ARE USUALLY
DEEPER THAN THEY APPEAR. JUST ONE FOOT OF FLOWING WATER IS POWERFUL
ENOUGH TO SWEEP VEHICLES OFF THE ROAD. WHEN ENCOUNTERING FLOODED
ROADS MAKE THE SMART CHOICE...TURN AROUND...DONT DROWN.
