Sunday was even busier than Saturday. Parking lot was crowded but still plenty of spots left. When I arrived everyone was pushed back due to the high water tide. The volleyball poles were submerged. Same friendly crowd and group of locals. Nude sunbathers slightly outnumbering clothed with majority towards the south. Most of the single men and women tended to stay towards the center. As well the high water level washed away the vegetation from the shore.
A tip for first timers ... avoid the stretch of beach at the most southern end under the cliffs. It's the unofficial bathroom area as there are no facilities. Thanks to the regulars for warning me.
Updated from The Splash Cafe in Pismo Beach ... they have some decent chowder if you care to wait in the line. Would also recommend Alphy's Broiler in the old part of Arroyo Grand for sandwiches ... very tasty.
