Caveman, the USFS rules for Deep Creek is no camping, or fires within 1 mile of the creek on either side, for its entire length from the Mojave Forks Dam all the way upstream to its headwaters. Its not just 1 mile away from DCHS. Yes the rangers do ticket campers or violaters of those rules. If you want to fish for trout, you need to go much higher up on the creek, like in the Devils Hole area or higher. I measured the creek waters a good ways upstream from DCHS and it was 84 degrees. The trout are dying right now from basically Willow Creek on downstream because of the high creek temp. And now since yesterday it has become even hotter with temps around 100-110 in the deserts. The stream will be getting even warmer. You want to fish for catfish or chubs, then the part of the stream from Willow Creek on down to the dam is your fishing paradise :-)
