Expect crowds on the weekend, and probably most folks in bathing suits rather than au naturale. And yes, you can definitely free hike down the trail from Bowen Ranch. Regarding the Freedom Trail road, some regular users like Jobe drive it all the time, and he could probably give you a recent report, but I think its only suitable for 4 WD. Did your Pilot make it down the Freedom Trail road before?
