This little 3ft rattler was up on the rocks yesterday (5/21). Right where you walk around back behind the rocks up top to get around to the beach after crossing the creek. Right at the highest point where there is a little gulley/valley between the rocks. Not agressive but it was a little startled when it saw me. Be careful when walking back there. He took off over the front and I didn't see him the rest of the day.
Also saw a snake swimming across the creek from the beach to the springs (couldn't tell size/kind), and right before the hill back up to Bowen saw a 2ft or so green/yellow thin snake. Looked harmless though, just scurried across trail.
A couple weeks ago saw another rattler about the same size on the dirt road before heading back up to the ranch. He was not the friendliest though. He was rattling and not happy.
4 snakes (2 rattlers in the 3ft-ish range) in two trips. BE AWARE out there. It's snake season. They don't want to see you any more than you want to see them. We're stomping around in there home. Just be careful and know what to do if you get bit. Good luck! Don't forget, you're in nature! (sorry, couldn't get pics to embed!)
