I camped out near the Freedom trail head which is where I am posting. Yesterday, April 23 I went to the springs @ noon. It was a busy day again there. About 15 persons from Oak Springs ranch were hanging out in the shade when I arrived. As the day progressed about 20 more people from the Oak Springs ranch came down the trail. Also about 10 persons had camped at the springs.
I dug the Arizona pool out to about knee deep. At 3 pm I went around and took the temps from the middle of the pools near the surface. The temp at the Arizona pool was 109 degrees. Just upstream from there I took the creek temp at 66.6 degrees.
The Anniversary pool was 109.4 degrees and very clean.
The Womb pool was 106.4 degrees.
The Serenity pool was109.5 degrees.
The Crab Cooker pool was 114.1 degrees.
After this I took an hour long nap. When I woke up 2 guitar players were strumming some tunes on the rocky area in front of the pools. A very mellow flute player joined in for an other worldly mix. I love it when this happens.
No drama or stupid , crazy stuff. Well except the group with the rope had camped on the Bowen ranch and they brought their rope equipment back down and tied it to the rocks just down stream from the Arizona pool. Very entertaining.
All together a great day to be at Deep Creek !
