Hey Hiker, our two daughters Amber, Lea and I just missed you since we got to DCHS a bit after 1PM. As you surmised the place was very crowded. We made our way around to the sand area above the Arizona Pool when I saw Ralph ( creator of the DCV website ) and Johnny getting some shade in the Cottonwoods. After talking with them for a while and eating lunch they mentioned that you had been there earlier in the day. Not much in the way of Naturism going on that day except for us, you and a few others. My daughters and I decided to head up the canyon for a more serene setting after about 4PM. We spent the rest of the day taking brief dips in the 62 degree creek waters and getting some late day sunshine. We came across a black and white Kingsnake on the way back. I put some photos from the hike at the Wizard's picture link found below on this page, or go to:

Sorry we missed seeing you Hiker. The Man burns in 131 days you lucky guy :-) Be careful with that mid day hiking in the heat. You can get heat exhaustion even no matter how much water you drink because your body temp can keep increasing despite having plenty of water in your belly. Many years ago I almost fried myself making that mistake of thinking just having enough water was all I needed to stay cool and protected from heat exhaustion or even worse, heat stroke. Man that felt good when I finally dived into the refreshing waters of Deep Creek :-)
