Jobe, As you know the Freedom Trail parking area is just in USFS lands. and the USFS boundry is also at the Kiosk parking area on the Bowen Ranch Trail, The Hunters Camp road runs southerly from the 3N59A that connects these two parking areas, in the direction of the USFS side, so I think Barry Nelson was giving you some BS telling you that road was on BLM lands. A detailed map showing BLM and USFS lands would show which is the case. This map here:

shows the short dead end road at the Freedom Trail parking ( in the middle of the page ) and off right of that is the USFS Kiosk parking area. Its real close either way.
