Hello, my name is David and I'm new here. I live in Hesperia and have been to the hot springs a handful of times now. I am so hooked and would be there every weekend if possible. I have a question for the "regulars". Continuing through the freedom trail parking lot on the road, about half way between the freedom trail parking and the parking where the road crosses the main trail leading to the ranch, there is a makeshift gate in the barbed wire fence. Going through it there is a road that continues down to a turn around closer to the hot springs. Is there a reason not to drive through the gate and park here that anyone knows of? I have read many of the threads here and am aware of all the other parking areas with their fees or "mystery" vandalism problems. Just curious if there would be some kind of legal issue or something with parking in the described location(like maybe it is private property, or forest service land and the rangers would freak out). Thanks for any feedback and I hope to meet as many of you guys as possible as I plan on being a regular from now on.
