Interesting. Knew there was a legal reason. So technically one *could* be cited for maintaining the trail, which would lead me to think most of the work would take place during the off season. We actually spent Saturday there and did witness the life guards warning some folks to turn around on the cliffs or "to raise their hands if they needed rescue" over the loud speaker. Sunday we actually spent most of the day at the glider port taking in the views. If the wind is heavier, next time I'll be very tempted to take a flight. Talked with the flight director there - he's quite the animated character. He mentioned he doesn't mind people crossing his area from the north parking lot if they flag him down and as long as they keep walking and not stand there. The club carries $10M in liability in case of incidents, which is why they want people off the grass.
