I went and checked out the two free parks I mentioned recently that might serve as a good location to have our first meeting. I think the smaller park which is called Mendel Park will do fine for us and its practically on the way to the springs. It has nice grass and trees for shade. There is one table that is covered by a rigid shade structure but if its occupied we can sit on blankets on the grass or people can bring a folding chair. The park is not big but it is convient and how much room do 4 people need anyway :-) It is right next to an elementary school which is actually where there was a meeting held back after the Willow Fire. I'm sure Katrina remembers it. If your coming east on Bear Valley Road you make a right on to Navajo and go all the way till it dead ends. This street is Tussing Ranch RD. You then make a left and go a very short distance and the next left is Manhasset. The park is on the North East corner of Manhasset and Tussing Ranch RD. You can't miss it. There is a play ground too if we get bored :-) Rock Springs Road off of Main st. eventually turns north and becomes Kiowa. Once going north on Kiowa you go until you cross some railroad tracks. The next right hand turn is Tussing Ranch Road. You then turn right and go till you see the park on the left hand side. You can't miss it. Main ST. and Bear valley are the main ways to come to the springs that people would be familiar with I beleive. Also when we get done all we have to do is go a short distance east down Tussing Ranch Road to Central and this point on Central is not far from the turn onto Ocotillo. If someone needs additional directions just post here what your question is and I'll try and answer it for you. Its really simple to find. So it looks like we have 4 people that are go for the first meeting. I think it will be good to make some kind of start. I really think the park will offer us a convenient place to talk things over before we hit the springs. So what time is going to be a good time to meet for everyone? Since I'm the closest anytime is fine for me.
