Regarding your photo Rick, when I passed through there ( Lone Pine ) on Sunday it was a wonderfully clear day with blue skies. So looks like you were on another one of your High Sierra adventures. Did you cross over Tioga Pass on this one? I've climbed Mt Whitney twice, the pointed Mountain in the background. Once was in the fall of 1977 with my friend and we stayed over night on top ( about 14,500 ft ) in the little two room rock building that was there. Coldest night I ever experienced and daylight was a real blessing for us when it came :-)
